Installing solar screens on some windows, but not all. How will doing this look? Can I shade just some windows and not others?

What does it look like to leave windows uncovered for the front of the home?

Here’s a home we did this year (2020) in Pflugerville. The homeowners did not want to cover the two 1/2 circles or the transom around the front door. But they did have us cover the 1/2 circle over the front door. To each is own, but I would have for sure covered all of these windows if this was my home. Read reviews from my happy customers that accepted my recommendations.

This homeowner did however cover all the windows here on the back of their home with the solar window screens. They did not leave any of these windows unshaded.

See from the picture below how the front window’s glass around the front door pop? How they jump out at you since they are not covered? You see that shiny glass. This home in my opinion could have looked considerably better. Better if the windows around the front door were covered with solar window screens.

If you have opening residential windows and just needs bug screens, I can install those for you as well.

Do you cover front windows if you have stained glass within them?

In rare cases you have people with stained decorative glass above and around their front doors. Covering that becomes a judgment call. it’s a personal decision. How do you want the front of your home to look? On one hand, I can appreciate why this homeowner did not want their stained-glass covered. But on the other hand, the job just does not look complete to me. With that said, I can 100% appreciate why this homeowner did not shade these windows.

How about a front small window? If I have a very small front window over the front door, can I leave that uncovered?

Even though it is a small window and you think it won’t be that noticeable, trust me it is. I do not like leaving windows above the front door uncovered because to me it is one of the first things you see when you pull up to the home. It looks almost like you are corner-cutting.

The following Kyle TX homeowner did not want to put the sun screens on the top small (3) 24×24 windows or over the front door. I convinced her to at least do the the (3) 24x24s but she did not go with the one over the front door. She covered every other window on the house, including the back door, but did not put one over the front door.

I just need the solar window shade screens for the top floor of my windows.

Here is what that looks like. This home in Hutto Texas is only wearing our window shading screens on the front, left, and right 2nd floor windows. Not any on the 1st floor.
