Sliding doors for Patio, insect bug and solar screens, Austin Texas TX

If you have a sliding glass door that you would like shaded with solar screen fabric, we can help!  We make a solar screen sliding door system that can shade your entire patio sliding glass door.

We can manufacture a solar screen sliding door that slides from side to side. And within the sliding door, we can roll it with solar screen fabric. Or, we can roll it with just normal insect bug screen fabric.

If you would like solar screen fabric, we can use either of our 90% or 80% fabrics.

We could roll the patio sliding door screen with any of our six colors of fabric. And, we can make the screen using any of our five frame colors.

When a patio sliding door screen order accompanies a solar window screen order, the pricing per side is $130.  That’s $130 for the patio sliding door and $130 for the pocket. It’s $260 in total to cover an entire patio sliding door.

Pricing for my sliding door solar screens can be found here on the Solar Screen Austin Texas Installed Pricing page of my website.

Want to see how well you can see through the solar screen fabric?

Our fabric has great visibility, it may be shocking to you to see how well you can see through it. You can see through the 80% sunshade fabric really well. Similar to how well you can see through your current bug screens.  Our 90% fabric lends just a slight bit of distortion while looking through it.  We have a section here on our website that thoroughly discusses visibility through solar screen fabric.

Just need a sliding door bug screen for your sliding glass patio door?

If all you need is a sliding door screen, you will want a sliding bug screen door. You will not have a need for the pocket. The pocket is so that you could get shade for the entire patio sliding glass door. The cost for just an insect sliding door screen is $115.  The $115 cost is the price if the order for this accompanies a full solar window screen order. An order that pays for the two measures and trip costs.  Visit our solar window screen pricing page to see our installed pricing.  A full order, which includes the two measuring and installation trip costs, have to be covered for that $115 price.

We have a post that discusses how much solar screens cost that may be of value for you to look at.  This page shows many pricing examples for solar window screen installations.

Why use a sliding door solar screen and a pocket?

To cover the entire surface area of glass, you need both a sliding door screen and a pocket screen.

This is only if you need to shade the glass.  If not, if you just need bug protection, you only need the $115 insect bug screen sliding door.  A sliding door rolled with bug screen fabric.

The sliding door screen is the screen that moves, the screen that slides. The pocket is the side that is stationary. The side that does not move.

This (above picture)  is a beautiful patio solar screen sliding glass door system rolled with our chocolate 90% sun shade fabric. These are very tall solar screen sliding door screens. Nevertheless, our flat-rate pricing of $130 covered these two tall builds. Our flat rate pricing covers any size or fabric density (ie 80% or 90%) of door and pocket.

Considering tinting your sliding patio door versus shading it with solar screen fabric?

Shading a door with solar screen fabric is by far superior. By far superior versus that of using interior window tint (a.k.a. window film).  A film on the inside only gives you a little shade. Window film (window tint) does not keep the glass door from getting hot. Visit this section on my website where we thoroughly discuss the difference between solar screens and window film.

Shading your glass from the sun is the most effective way to control your energy bills (usage).

You do not want to trap water within the framing of your sliding glass patio doors.

Never cover the weep holes of a window, with caulk, silicone, screens, or mortar. The weep holes are there for a good reason.
This is what 15 years of experience gets you. An installer that knows what he is doing and makes sure you get a high-quality, high-level of craftmanship. Be sure to check out my Reviews.

This picture (above) shows how I did not cover up the weep holes. I used the head of this screw as a spacer. By using the spacer when I installed this pocket, it did not sit flush. Because it did not sit flush, I was not covering up the weep holes. This is critical. It is critical not to obstruct the weep holes for your door or for your windows. You never want to make water back up. You never want to cover up water escape pathways.

How much shade can these sliding door solar screens provide?

We can roll you’re sliding screen door and pocket out of the 80 or 90% fabric. For a very clear understanding of the difference between the 80% and 90% solar screen fabric, click here.

Will the solar screens block my view?
You get a lot of shade from the solar shade fabric but you can still see through it just fine. You can see through the 80% and 90% solar shade fabric very well.

Using weather stripping for the sliding door screens.

What a clean and good looking installation this is.

To help keep the flying bugs from getting between the pocket and your sliding door.

If I can, I like to install this weatherstripping (picture above). If I can install this weather stripping, it helps to keep the bugs out.  Not all installations allow for this.  All patio sliding glass door and pocket system installations I install are different.  Installing the patio sliding door pocket varies from each and every installation.  As I have to find a unique way to attach the pocket to each varying patio sliding door.  Pocket attachment often presents challenges for me, as each sliding door is different.  Nevertheless, each job looks fantastic when I am through with it.  My work is always impeccable.

I used my mocha solar fabric with brown framing. This apartment community looks stunning now. I offer the same fabric and frame colors for multifamily solar window screens as I do for residential solar window screens.

Will my multifamily property’s Windows benefit from solar screens? Yes, the benefit will be massive. Not only will the property look considerably better, but the tenants will be happier.

You could also get shade for your patio using our outdoor roll-up blinds.

Our patio sun shades are made to roll up and down. The design of a patio sun shade is to provide temporary shade for your patio. If you have a patio with an overhang we can install some of our patio blinds for you. Check out my extensive page with 100’s of pictures of Austin TX patio roller shade installations I have done in the area.

I as well have a very thorough Outdoor Patio Shades – Q&A page that will provide answers to all of your questions.

My manual outdoor patio sun shades are not the answer for shading your sliding doors. That’s what the sliding door solar screens are for. The sliding solar screen doors will provide full-time (all day) sun protection. My patio roller shades are for temporary sun shade, not full-time sun shade.
